Please do not install wifi-firmware-iwlwifi-kmod but only the flavour you need
(see fwget or let fwget install the package).  Different flavours have
different settings which may or may not apply to your chipset.

Which chipset do you have?  What does `pciconf -lv iwlwifi0` say?
