Unfortunately we only have wireless network so I am not able to test a wired
connection. It's a campus network environment and I don't know where I can get
hold of any hardware spec information regarding the router. 
And I am a fairly new user of FreeBSD. I am not using ports, nor do I know how
to revert to a previous version of /sbin/dhclient. But I do want to help and
provide information as long as I can.
