Strange iwlwifi failure after router reboot

Yesterday I had to update the IPv6 configuration of my router. This
required the router going off-line for about 30 seconds. (Why? ASUS doesn't
say.)
My laptop quickly failed over to my neighbor's network. OK. That should be
fine, but it does not flip back to my network when the router came back
on-line. Not a surprise, so I did a "service netif restart wlan0" to flip
it back and the driver failed.

After several failed efforts to restore service, I rebooted my system and
everything went back to normal. I did not try unloading and loading the
driver as that often does not go well and I needed to get back on-line
quickly.

I have opened https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=263707 with
the full log.
