Giving this a try on the 2026-02-05 weekly snapshot:
FreeBSD 16.0-CURRENT main-n283667-39148cbead21

A VM freezes at:

Loading kernel...seconds. [Space] to pause
/boot/kernel/kernel text=0x318 text=0xa62b58

The host freezes, rather than panicking, though this may relate to the
randomness of the memory corruption that Zhenlei mentioned.
