I've been seeing the exact same thing with any RHEL-based distribution (Alma,
Rocky, Fedora) version 9.5 or newer. I did run into this while searching around
for clues (https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=279901) but it
appears to be specific to AMD CPU's. I'm seeing this issue on Intel CPU
systems. 

I am waiting to see if the patched version fixes the issue, but it isn't
available via FBSD's latest packages yet.
