Just for reference, I found the script that does the Vagrant-specific 
FreeBSD configuration:

https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-src/blob/main/release/tools/vagrant.conf

It's doing all those settings, and it's a good idea to leverage the work 
and the knowledge that went into it.
