Side note: 13.0-RELEASE is no longer supported;

If I recall correctly, there's comparable behaviour – a visible end, not
followed by closure of the window to the guest – with FreeBSD guests in
VirtualBox hosted on FreeBSD, only if EFI is enabled at the guest level.
