You’re misunderstanding the intention of this patch. It has nothing to
do with GPU passthrough. The only thing it changes is how bhyve
reports the number of vcpus to the guest. If you like to test the
patch, rebuild OVMF with this patch, start a VM and check if the
guest detects the correct number of cpus.
