After all this time, I think users still experiencing the issue would have
mostly either replaced the hardware or migrated operating systems. Personally,
I retired the system showing this bug after several iterations of fixes hadn't
worked and being so far out of date was no longer viable (and neither was
running without USB3.x, of course).
