You was confused by Synaptics VendorId decoded by Slackware as `Synaptics,
Inc.`. Really your touchpad is not truly Synaptics as it does not implement one
of Synaptics proprietary protocols. It is USB HID touchpad so one should use
usbhid as keyword for search. I typed `usbhid freebsd` in google site and after
that [1] appeared on 6-th line of output. May be we should copy it to Wiki as
separate page and extend with your case but I do not have Wiki credentials too.
