Hi Hans Petter,

as to your question, yes, my BIOS is up-to-date.

On a different note, I installed a different UNIX-like OS - OmniOS. I had no
warning or error messages during the installation, but upon boot, i.e., just
before login prompt, the following message is printed:

WARNING: /pci@00.0/pci1043.8389@12.1 (ohci1): Connecting device on port 3
failed.

Since the identified port (3) is the same as the one reported by FreeBSD, it
might, after all be a hardware problem, despite the fact that other OSs do not
report any problem and all USB devices I tried, i.e., flash drives, mouse,
CD-ROM, keyboard, and the like work on all the ports.

I still have the drive with FreeBSD install on it if you want to continue, but
if you concur that it is a hardware issue, please feel free to close the
ticket.

Kindest regards,

M
