If you can still reproduce the buzz with pulseaudio (without virtual_oss), it
may be worthwhile to get the output of

sysctl hw.snd.verbose=2

cat /dev/sndstat

both with the buzz present and after the pulseaudio init fix. That should print
the vchan conversion graph from pulseaudio output to hardware. Maybe we see a
difference there if the vchans are the culprit.
