Forgot to reply to this comment, it seems like bootorder is just broken.
With -s 1:0 ahci,hd:...,cd:...,hd:... I could not get anything working, with
the following arrangement
-s 1:0,ahci-hd,/dev/sda # usb with memtest86
-s 1:1,ahci-cd,9front.iso
-s 1:2,ahci-hd,freebsd.raw
the machine by default boots to the 9front iso and after adding bootorder
(any??), it starts booting memtest and even after removing bootorder config,
still continues booting the memtest usb. the only way to stop it from doing
that seems to be recreating the fwcfg file.
