I'm not surprised that the same change would need to be made in multiple
locations / ports.

The issue is still the same, u-boot is trying to address a 2nd SD card which
doesn't exist on any of the Pi systems. The same change/fix/testing can be done
with sysutils/u-boot-rpi-arm64 - its just a single character change to address
the correct SD card slot.
