https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=283155 --- Comment #15 from Mark Millard <marklmi26-fbsd@yahoo.com> --- (In reply to Mark Linimon from comment #14) So far as I know, FreeBSD source code never started disabling the search for a matching: *-unknown-freebsd*-ld on the path as the highest priority linker to use when the system cc/clang/c++/clang++ looks for one to use, no -fuse-ld=??? specified. If the appropriate: *-binutils has been installed (say, aarch64-binutils), it will find: /usr/local/bin/*-unknown-freebsd*-ld and use it. That, in turn will still try to use a: LLVMgold.so --that it will not find. (A wrong license type for FreeBSD OS distributions.) Note: The devel/llvm* installs do get a matching: /usr/local/llvm*/lib/LLVMgold.so so if those clang*/clang++* are in use, it least the lookup can be coherent enough to find such, unlike the system commands. (However, the pkg license information for the devel/llvm* : Licenses : PD, BSD3CLAUSE, MIT, LLVM, LLVM2, REGEX still does not mention the GPLv3 license involved in having such a file.) I'll note that these points are a very old problem set, long predating the Bug 283155 report submittal. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
