Bug ID: 262058
Summary: print/texlive-base UPDATING Instructions, texlive-base
conflicts with texlive-texmf
Product: Ports & Packages
Version: Latest
Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: ---
Component: Individual Port(s)
Assignee: tex@FreeBSD.org
Reporter: alt2600@icloud.com
Flags: maintainer-feedback?(tex@FreeBSD.org)
Assignee: tex@FreeBSD.org
I pulled after the patch for texlive-texmf but still have issues updating TeX,
still indicating a circular dependency but it seems that texlive-base conflicts
with texlive-texmf since they are already installed and it will still not
proceed. Not sure what the purpose of all these conflicts are, but they
seemingly make it impossible to update because the old ports existing means
they cannot update to new versions.

They install files into the same place.
You may want to stop build with Ctrl + C.

and after deleting texlive-texmf to try to pull it in naturally during upgrade
now I get
===>>> Gathering dependency list for print/texlive-base from ports
===>>> print/texlive-tlmgr seems to depend on print/texlive-base
which looks like a dependency loop
UPDATING instruction is wrong, this thing will not upgrade with portmaster at
all, everything is blocking each other possibly due to conflicting with the old
versions.
