Sorry to resurrect a three-year-old closed bug report here. However, the
`patch-modernize` patch introduces a format string vulnerability at exp_clib.c
line 1485 (line number post-patch).

I'd like to fix the format string vulnerability, but I'm not sure how this
patch file was generated. I could use a little help here if possible.
