Okay, so after reading the handbook, the forums, and a bunch of other sources,
I still have no idea how to enable a serial console.  The loader has an option
that, after some tweaking, now says 'Cons: Dual (Serial primary)'.  And yet, I
don't have a working serial console.  I can see the installer and (after
install) the getty output on the EFI console, but no on serial.  Turning
various things to 'on' in `/etc/ttys` has no effect.
