To clarify and reassure you regarding core file creation. The whole situation occurred due to the use of sudo, which disables core file creation to enhance security by imposing a core file size limit of 0. PHP scripts called via cron(8) still produce beautiful core dumps under stable/15. So there is no regression in terms of core creation by stable/15.
