You'll want to enable the repo 'enable: yes' and make sure the /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf has been removed (the whole /usr/local/etc/pkg directory can be removed unless you have custom stuff).
 
pkg update
 
again and you should be good.
