I am closing this bug because the upstream ruby-bdb gem is unmaintained (last
release targeted Ruby 2.3) and there has been zero engagement for over 3 years.
The Thread.new interference bug is in the upstream gem code, and with no active
upstream development or community interest, there is no path to a fix. The port
targets an extremely old Ruby version.
