If I'm not mistaken, it is possible to write name_enable="YES" to the file in
rc.conf.d/<name>. And it's also described that way on Reddit.

It's always better to have some clear file name format (rc.conf.d/<name>) to
avoid problems with loading for example rc.conf.d/<name>.bak or
rc.conf.d/<name>~ or rc.conf.d/<name>.tmp etc.
