I typically configure my mail client to sort messages by Subject and 
then by reverse (sent?) Date.  The "[List]" Subject prefix breaks the 
thread into two groups -- those with the original Subject and those with 
"[List]" Subject.


Furthermore, changing the Subject may adversely impact automated 
archiving and searching solutions on the Internet.


Whoever is doing this, please stop.
