b0rked update to 14.2: libcrypto.so not found

sudo -s
ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libcrypto.so.111" not found, required by "sudo"
ls -l /lib/libcrypto.so.111
ls: /lib/libcrypto.so.111: No such file or directory

I guess I can repair this in single user with a rescue shell but is there
an easier way? I am so used to using sudo to get root access, I no
longer remember the root password which is annoying.
