Possible.
However, Nagios is configured automatically via Salt, which enumerates 
HDDs/SSDs and populates the config file.
Modifying this would be no little task and, after all, it works for 99% 
of machines; currently the only downside is that, on the rare occasions 
where I have to reboot this specific server, I might even more rarely 
need to do it twice.

Agreed.
However I might evaluate this and decide... if it's just a matter of 
temporarily disabling such a map, it might be acceptable.
