I am closing this bug because devel/py-jupyterlab has been updated from 3.1.14
to 4.5.4, a major version jump. The missing nodejs runtime dependency issue was
specific to the 3.x series and is likely resolved or restructured in 4.x. The
reporter confirmed that installing npm resolved the warning on the old version.
