I am closing this bug as fixed. The reported LTO build failure was resolved by
commit 423a79650284, which removed LTO from OPTIONS_DEFAULT for Python ports.
The affected Python versions (3.7 through 3.10) have all been removed from the
ports tree. The remaining question about -g interaction with LTO in newer
Python versions is a separate concern.
