This was fixed in ports 634b014274a6dc38252bc1239007da72664307a5 (a day or two
later).  Thanks for fixing the issue.

Apologies for the false alarm - the problem was encountered with a ports tree
that did not yet have that change.

The concerns are still valid about the practices that led to the commit being
pushed without the necessary patch.  But mistakes happen.
