            Bug ID: 292513
Summary: PVR negotiation fails during CAS in POWER6/POWER7
                    compat mode
           Product: Base System
           Version: 15.0-RELEASE
          Hardware: powerpc
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: powerpc
          Assignee: ppc@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: dennis.camera+freebsd@riiengineering.ch

When running in POWER6/POWER7 processor compatibility mode, the loader stops
at:

> Booting [/boot/kernel/kernel]...
> cas: CAS method returned an error: rc 0 err 4294967295
> cas: selected hash MMU
>
> Type '?' for a list of commands, 'help' for more detailed help.
> OK

While QEMU logs:

> qemu-system-ppc64: Couldn't negotiate a suitable PVR during CAS

I received this error when running in QEMU on a POWER9 which is set to P6 or P7
compat mode.

$ qemu-system-ppc64 -machine pseries-10.0,max-cpu-compat=power6 -accel kvm -cpu
host ...
