thanks for the improvements.

I'm running the new version on my desktop since the day I opened this bug. No
issue so far, but I didn't do extensive testing to be honest.

I'll rebuild the port with your patch and let you know how it goes.

Re the adoption of the port, why not as I'm using it myself. How would
maintaining it would looke like ? Opening a bug such as this one every time
there's a new version ?
