The IP-> country code database on net/p5-IP-Country is very outdated. There is a newer one here: https://mailfud.org/ip-country-fast/ They update about once a month. https://mailfud.org/ip-country-fast/cc.gif https://mailfud.org/ip-country-fast/ip.gif The file size differences : Base ones: $ ls -l /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/IP/Country/Fast -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 765 May 16 2013 cc.gif -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 515228 May 16 2013 ip.gif Newer ones are: -rw-r--r-- 1 thogard thogard 762 May 21 23:20 cc.gif -rw-r--r-- 1 thogard thogard 970761 May 21 23:20 ip.gif Is there anyway include those files or perhaps have a p5-IP-Country-mailfud= pkg that has just those two files (and a patch for the man saying mailfud data maybe) if there is a problem of mixing MaxMind's old data with mailfud's? There are similar files for IP::Country::DB_File and Tools useful for testing are the ip2cc program in the package and host -t t= xt 1.2.3.4.ipasn.net which is a service by APNIC that goes to the ARIN databas= es.=20 It uses route RPKI data on the ASN routing tables as a data source.
