Sorry for being off, kind of, for some time...

Re GTK2 version maintenance: for me, it is visually more pleasing, a bit more
compact than GTK3 version. Other than that, I have no special reason to keep
it. It was done the way it was done because nothing better was available at the
time it was done. Today, I think, the correct way to keep both versions would
be flavors, but I have no experience with them, yet, other than using some
ports already converted to this method.

Re mail/claws-mail-gdata port: the plugin is probably no longer usable and no
maintainer upstream does care about it (some API change or something similar
broke it) so as it no longer builds, it could go away.
