that makes sense to me.

I do not have enough of an interstanding of the different stages of the
capture, processing, checking and subsequent compiling of these packages.

The log file is what I saw and through trial and error came to the conclusion..
introducing the make.conf option, mentioned above, it "fixed" the issue.
