[Bug 292646] mail/spamd update to more recent version? (adding TLS support)

https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=292646 --- Comment #2 from Sebastian Oswald <sko@rostwald.de> --- (In reply to Nikola Kolev from comment #1) Thanks for that hint! github search seems to be pretty useless nowadays as I wasn't able to find that project... I'll give that a try and see if my limited C skills are enough to maybe even bring that to the codebase of 7.8 (if anything changed - at least there's nothing in the OpenBSD changelogs). spamlogd and greylisting is pretty much the core of spamd - any reason why it was removed? I'm using spamd on several mail systems as an integral part of fighting spam, so I'd really like to see it stay in ports and get some updates. I already maintain www/angie and its sub-ports, so I could also step in and maintain this port. However, as already mentioned, my C skills are *very* basic (I've used C in the past primarily for prototyping on 8 bit AVR controllers before rewriting it in assembly...), and I feel this port actually requires some more than that... I'll try to get something done on top of your efforts in the github repo and see if I feel I might be up for the task. If someone else is willing to lend a hand or take maintainership, I'd be happy to support any work on this if I possibly can (I have poudriere build environments and live mail systems for testing available). Thanks, Sebastian -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
