Do we really need all these build dependencies?

It would be nice if we could make jdk optional

I'm going to guess that doxygen, qpdf, asciidoctor, graphviz are all
documentation related? Perhaps a toggle?

It would be nice if we could also get rid of gtar, zip and possibly coreutils
too.

CXXFLAGS_EXTRA , LDFLAGS_EXTRA (partially) can be replaced with USES=
localbase:ldflags
