"FAILED: [code=1]" from ninja usually indicates a c++ crash, which is likely
due to an out-of-memory condition, but you didn't provide what came after that.
I *really* don't think this PR is related to your problem, though.
This PR is mainly ccache-related and seams to be fixed in [1]. If your problem
still persists, please file a new PR. We do have pre-built packages of
qt6-tools-6.10.1 available, which I personally like to use as someone running
rather ancient hardware, but just for this iteration of this PR I did a
successful live build of qt-tools-6.10.1 on my
7-year-old-physically-falling-apart laptop with 32GB RAM running 15.0-STABLE
amd64 (with ccache).

The OP's problem should be fixed in [1]. As I alluded to in comment #8, [2]
wasn't quite right. We haven't heard from OP in 6 months, either. With
additional positive feedback from alven@ and yourself, I'm closing this.
