patch modeled after bug 212918

Scenario:
- FreeBSD stable/14 ca. Dec. 30
- ports latest
- virtualbox-ose-72 installed, including guest additions
- The attached patch has been added to virtualbox, modeled after bug 212918.

Result:
- Windows 11 runs nicely, including with installed guest additions.
- Running a FreeBSD stable/14 client (exactly the same version as the server)
leads to an uninterruptible hang when trying to ifconfig the network adapter.
- Tested with NAT and bridged modes, and Intel and virtio adapter emulations.

Note:
- A seemingly very similar issue has just been opened in
https://github.com/VirtualBox/virtualbox/issues/563
