Thanks for your hard work on this! Sorry for the delay, I did receive your
initial email and hadn't gotten the chance to reply. 

I'll also look into the issue you mentioned, but at the very least, I think the
attached patch should be ready to submit. It would really help to get this in
the Ports tree, as there should be no blockers (failures).
