Hi FreeBSD Ports team and BSDforge,
I am writing to you as the original author of ecgi (currently tracked as
devel/ecgi).
First of all, I want to send a huge thank you to the FreeBSD community and the
Ports maintainers for the stewardship over the last 25 years. I truly
appreciate that you kept the project alive and maintained the necessary patches
while it lacked an official home.
I have finally revived the project on GitHub and integrated your existing port
patches directly into the official upstream source. I have just released
version 0.6.4, which includes:
- Incorporation of the FreeBSD va_list 64-bit compatibility fixes.
- Modernized Makefiles for current GCC and Clang environments.
- Updated documentation (converted to Markdown).
Please update the port to point to the new official repository to ensure a
stable future for the package. Since the patches are now part of the upstream
code, you should be able to drop the local patch files from the ports tree.

Thank you for your time and effort!
Best regards,
Sven Dawitz
