It has always astounded me that ridicule that djbdns and qmail have gotten over
the years for not having a constant stream of updates.  They haven't had them
because they haven't needed them.  The idea of software that doesn't break
constantly is completely foreign to the modern mind.

I have been immune to all the DNS bugs of the last 20 years, and there were a
LOT, because I used a piece of software last updated in 2001.  I still use
djbdns today.
