https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=275803 --- Comment #17 from Charles Lecklider <freebsd@charles.lecklider.org> --- (In reply to Daniel Engberg from comment #12) "offers functionality that's relevant today" I've read the previous thread and the Debian thread; forgive me if I missed it, but I'm none the wiser about what that functionality might be. While dnscache has problems with the mess the Internet has become, it's still a good tool on a private network. People still have those. tinydns has no such issues. "software which is actively maintained" #include <inigo-montoya.h> If "actively maintained" means updating something every other week because of a security-related bug I'll have the "unmaintained" one please, no matter how shiny and modern the new code is. DNS is a small problem space, and the authoritative NS part even smaller. I believe it can be fully considered and fully implemented, and that tinydns is exactly that; there's 30 years of supporting evidence behind that belief. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
