proposed patch

These commits apply cleanly to 5.6.2 and make it possible to use podman with
nomad on FreeBSD, so let's include them in the port since there's at least one
user who would benefit.  I believe these patches can be dropped when updating
to 5.6.3, whenever that comes out.
