This was a question because I don't understand why this is necessary. Where I'm
confident (or think I am confident), I suggest changes rather than ask
questions. Maybe this is really necessary for something less obvious? But I
don't see any effort on your part to figure it out—you just delete it.
That's why this PR has been hanging around for so long—I'm not willing to spend
the time studying this port/software to suggest the correct solution. And even
writing this answer in English took a considerable amount of effort.
