Bug ID: 287078
Summary: multimedia/cheese: fails to show images/video for a
working webcam
Product: Ports & Packages
Version: Latest
Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: ---
Component: Individual Port(s)
Assignee: gnome@FreeBSD.org
Reporter: tom@eborcom.com
Flags: maintainer-feedback?(gnome@FreeBSD.org)

Whenever I run cheese, it fails to show any image or video. The application
starts, and in the middle of a black box says "There was an error playing video
from the webcam".
When I run `cheese` from the command line I see the following output:
(cheese:2650): cheese-CRITICAL **: 15:26:05.932: GValue type gint x
GstValueList, cannot be handled for resolution

I have seen this problem on several desktop machines running FreeBSD with
various different webcams. I do not use gnome, but run xfce4. I wonder if the
port omits essential dependencies.
The webcams always work without a problem in other applications such as firefox
and webcamoid.
I have `webcamd_enable="YES"` set in /etc/rc.conf and `pgrep -fla webcam`
shows:
1119 /usr/local/sbin/webcamd -i 0 -d ugen0.4 -B -U webcamd -G webcamd
Please let me know if you need any further information or would like me to
experiement running additional packages or different configuration.
