A gdb on the .core file from the Qt6 version did not give me enough information to try to begi= n to fix it. ................. The Qt5 binary on the machine fails to to run with a QCodeApplication error= .=20 Stackoverflow on similar issues suggest using kreadconfig6 or kwriteconfig6= to alter some setting in a config file, but I cannot find which file those commands are to take as a parameter as I am not running a KDE desktop per = se and thus have no kde related widgets in the window manager display or the t= ray.=20 ................ I have run 'strings' on each binary [ the qt5 one that runs on a system sti= ll of jan 2025 and without an upgraded KDE of early feb 2025 ] and the present= -day one and there are many differences between the outputs. =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D ldd shows over 120 libraries on which falkon depends. Almost all in /usr/local/lib, some were in qt5 now in qt6, slight chance one or more of t= hem in /usr/local/lib were compiled against a removed security/boringssl [ whic= h I deleted after falkon kept crashing ] in order to enable www/falkon to build locally, but which, now built in ports, still crashes before start, or, sometimes shows a falkon:restore blank page for a few seconds then crashes.= and a resinstall of ALL such /usr/local/lib libraries might fix the issue, but I have doubts that would work. .................... As falkon ran snappier than firefox does, and plays music which firefox can= not, here, [ another issue] I would like to see the port, www/falkon, fixed. ............... I hesitate to remove qt5 to try to fix things, www/otter-browser depends = on it, and that browser still runs youtube with music vs without sound for wh= ich I use it very often .... I have searched at kde.org and falkon.org and not found any reports duplica= ting this issue specifically, unaware which URL should receive this bug complain= t if it cannot be resolved thusly because it may affect only me... --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
