I may understand your concerns about broken patches in the tree.
My proposed patch is exactly about to replace 7 old broken ports with this new
one, maintained by me.

Could you explain it more, please? What do you mean by 'static archive'? How
one can determine which archive is/isn't 'static'? Why should it break at all?
