uniquedirs only acts on a UNIQUE_PREFIX. This was clobbering our correct
definition of EAXMPLEDIRS. I removed uniquedirs as a USE and also added the
correct EXAMPLEDIR (even though I don't believe that was getting messed up).
Hopefully this makes it ready for committing.

Also apologizes for the gap in repose time, some life stuff happened.
