You already uses ${PKGNAMESUFFIX} in dir name:
EXAMPLESDIR=    ${PREFIX}/share/examples/${PORTNAME}${PKGNAMESUFFIX}
Still conflicting?

Maybe question about conflicting DOCS?
You removed line:
DOCSDIR=        ${PREFIX}/share/doc/${PORTNAME}${PKGNAMESUFFIX}
