My comment does not depend on synth in any way, and does not depend on synth
being built on the system. 

My comment is a statement about the ports tree, in which "make
build-depends-list" provides false information on a clean system/tree, likely
due to the approach taken in the Makefile of this port or that of dependencies.

Therefore in my opinion this is not a synth issue.
