--- Comment #5 from Bernard Spil <brnrd@freebsd.org> ---
Hi,

Please compare the following output from poudriere before and after the change:

https://brnrd.eu/poudriere/data/150amd64-git/2025-12-04_17h36m54s/logs/errors/apache24-2.4.66.log
https://brnrd.eu/poudriere/data/150amd64-git/2025-12-05_09h24m06s/logs/apache24-2.4.66.log

First fails in stage-qa, second successful.
The change should not affect your build, it only affects the stage-qa target.
The change works the same way that other options devel/apr was built with are
detected in www/apache24 Makefile.

I have no reliable way of detecting the OPTIONS configured for a port
www/apache24 depends on.
If your build system uses some pre-build checks on this that ignore the options
devel/apr is built with, I don't have the bandwith to fix that.

Check Apache httpd's documentation for the reason for requiring Perl
https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/install.html it's right in there.

I've reset the maintainer as I see this as not an apache@ problem.
The port is for FreeBSD and is maintained using the tooling that FreeBSD
requires from contributors (poudriere).

I'm perfectly fine with accepting any patches that help other build tools, so
long as they don't affect the FreeBSD target.

with hat apache@, Bernard.
